FAQ

How do I register?

Each year, sign-up hours are scheduled just before the beginning of the school year. Typically, sign-ups are held over two or three days with both daytime and evening hours prior to or during the first week of school. Returning participants of the program will receive notice by email. A general notice denoting sign-up days will be included in the Principal’s newsletter which is mailed to parents by mid-August.

What do I need to bring?

Be prepared to provide emergency contact information as well as alternate pickup people’s phone information, child’s physician information and a copy of your child’s healthcare card. If your child needs any medications in afterschool you MUST have the forms completed and signed, along with the medication at the program before the child begins attending. Please bring copies of everything that we can keep in your child’s file, we do not have copier access during registration.

How do I qualify for reduced fees?

If you would like to qualify for the sliding-scale fees, please bring the following information with you to registration: COPIES (for us to keep) of last year’s income tax forms and W-2 statements, last four weekly pay stubs for every working adult in the household, and copies of any assistance budget letters if applicable. Unfortunately, we cannot process registrants who do not bring copies of these forms.

How does the program operate?

The program is operated by the Board of Directors. The board is made up of volunteers from the school community. Every parent is a member of the corporation. We encourage parents to serve on at least one committee. The Board meets quarterly during the school year. One meeting each year is open to the public; this is the general meeting held in early June. If you have an issue that you would like to bring to the member of the board, please contact the Chair: Robb Blocker robb.block@gmail.com

“This program gives me peace of mind knowing that my child will be well taken care of and in a safe place.”

My child loves the program! They feel confident in that environment, especially since they get help with her homework and can do other fun school activities with friends.”

“The program allowed me to keep my current hours at work. When the school has early dismissal, I know my child can stay, and that really helps me out so I don’t have to either take time off or find childcare for her.”
